The report explains how we are working towards our ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) objectives. We share the progress we have made and outline where we aim to go in the years ahead.
Why this report?
OPACKGROUP is not subject to the CSRD reporting requirements. Nevertheless, we choose to be open and transparent. Transparency is one of the six pillars of our IMPACT strategy, and this report makes our progress accessible to customers, suppliers, employees and other stakeholders. Something we are proud of!
The report has been prepared with reference to the GRI Standards (Global Reporting Initiative), the EcoVadis assessment criteria and the principles of ISO 26000. It also aligns with our ISO 14001-certified environmental management system, including CO₂ reduction management.

IMPACT: the foundation of our strategy
Our sustainability strategy is based on a double materiality assessment conducted with customers, suppliers, NGOs and internal experts, with guidance from the Circular Economy research group at HAN University of Applied Sciences.

Every initiative across the group can be linked to one of these six pillars.
100% renewable electricity since 2015
All ten of our production sites have been running on 100% certified renewable electricity since 2015. This represents our largest contribution to our climate performance.
In addition, we invest in energy-efficient extrusion, converting and printing machinery. Since 2023, all new leased company cars have been plug-in vehicles, and since September 2026, all new leased company cars are fully electric.
Our employees make the difference
OPACKGROUP employs approximately 675 people. Through the OPACKGROUP Knowledge Academy (OKAY), every employee has access to online training courses covering topics ranging from technology to sustainability.
Award-winning innovations
In collaboration with the OPACKGROUP Technology Centre, new innovations are introduced at our production sites. From new films made from used cooking oil to recyclable barrier films, our solutions are recognised as leading innovations, receiving nominations and winning industry awards.
